  • Offers a therapeutic summer day camp specifically designed to meet the unique needs of children with autism. Children are able to enjoy traditional camp activities, including arts and crafts, community trips, music, dance, and swimming, while also receiving the personalized supports they need to grow and learn to the best of their abilities.
  • Provides programs for youths and families at risk, youths and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities,youths and adults with brain and spinal cord injuries, and adult day health services.
  • The camp runs for eight weeks from 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, and is offered in Berks and Philadelphia Counties
    • Philadelphia’s program is only available to children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Offers Expressions Day Camp for children and teens who have different types of social skill challenges such as High Functioning Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Nonverbal Learning Disabilities and PDD-NOS or just for those who feel they need a little more social confidence with their peers
    • The 7-week summer camp program has two divisions: Junior Camp (ages 6-12) and Teen Camp (ages 13-18).
  • Expressions Day Camp incorporates activities designed to develop skills in the following areas:
    • Conversation, team-building, nonverbal communication, anger management, frustration tolerance, friendship making, problem solving, emotional development & opportunities for personal creativity.
    • Other activities in this camp program will include arts and crafts, movement and dance, yoga, swimming, computers, nature, team challenge activities, hiking, drama, stream exploration, and gameplay
  • The three step application/registration process includes:
    • Providing an updated IEP/Progress report if your child has one (just the essential pages), the Child History Form, Permission to Exchange Information Form, and the Behavioral Contract.
    • Attending an interview (that includes the parent and child) with our Director of Expression
    • Registering online by May 31st; a $200 nonrefundable deposit is required to  register
    • Parents can fill out a form to apply for grants and scholarships to help pay for the camp; Campers Insurance is also offered

Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support

  • Camp Kinney provides a traditional camp experience to children (ages 3-14) with Autism Spectrum Disorders
    • Includes recreational activities and opportunities to interact with “neuro-typical” peers
    • An auxiliary camp program is available to adolescents over the age of 14
  • Runs 10am – 3pm on Mondays to Thursdays during the months of June and July
  • Four nonrefundable payments are required to hold a spot in camp

 

    • Private payment options are available
  • A 15% sibling discount is offered for siblings attending the camp
    • A limited number of scholarships are offered
  • A physical form (filled out by a healthcare provider) is required
  • Applicants are accepted into the camp program on a first come, first serve basis
